By age three, most dogs and cats already have some degree of dental disease and because they can't tell us their mouth hurts, it usually goes unnoticed until it's advanced. Caring for your pet's teeth is one of the most impactful (and most underrated) things you can do for their whole-body health.
You should never be surprised by a bill. Here's how dental pricing generally works — at our clinic and most others:
The cleaning fee covers the oral exam and anesthesia. Both are needed to do the procedure safely and thoroughly.
Extractions are quoted separately, because every mouth is different. Cost depends on which tooth, how damaged it is, and whether there's an abscess. (The big carnassial chewing teeth are the toughest to remove.)
We'll always tell you what we find and what it costs before doing anything beyond the cleaning you came in for.

Gentle, and genuinely safe!
Anesthesia makes pet parents nervous, and we completely understand. But a real cleaning below the gumline simply can't be done well, or comfortably, on an awake pet. We monitor your pet closely from start to finish, keeping them calm and comfortable before they ever drift off. We'll talk through any worries, and for older pets we may suggest pre-anesthetic bloodwork for extra peace of mind.
